Actually, the smile first originated from his Santa Claus Jr. video (where I first got the idea to include it in the sheet). Mr. Blizzard made a comment about how the Lonely Goomba is always grumpy, so the Goomba disproves his point by flashing him that creepy grin. He even did it twice in the same video.
I'm including this mouth for a new version of the Goomba sheet I'm working on, which follows the new art direction I'm taking. You can see for yourself on my progress thread on the VG Resource.
