I think it's because the sprites are too similar to Superstar Saga and Bowser's Inside Story at the same time. They're more of a mix than anything, but that's just how I see it.
@JamminJelly I love Partners in Time, it's just that nobody ever makes graphics in its style. And that is just plain and simply a fact.
