"Yes, Mario. It's me... YOUR DEAR BROTHER..."

@JonGandee I also agree to, I guess Nintendo got kinda lazy making Luigi for SMM2. I have to say, these sprites fit perfectly into that game!

@JonGandee Agreed. I'm pretty sure they even made original sprites for Luigi in the Super Mario World game style. Don't think it would have killed them to use SMA4's Luigi.

Why are Luigi's sprites in Super Mario Maker 2 just a lazy Mario recolor when they could have done something like this?

One thing you did forget was the ears on Raccoon and Tanooki Luigi since if you pay attention to Mario's Nes sprites his entire ear is beige rather than a portion of it
Good work on the star jump sprites though

Super Mario Advance 4 has an official unique Statue Luigi Sprite.

I don't understand why Nintendo couldn't just do THIS for Luigi in SMB3 levels in Super Mario Maker 2 Instead we just get a recolored Mario, ONCE again.

Thank you all for the feedback on this one! I've submitted a more accurate revision of this sprite sheet that'll hopefully be approved soon.

Ton: I guess you're right, there are some small differences between Mario's 8-bit and 16-bit sprites excluding the obvious palette change.
Well, regardless, it's nice to finally see a real SMB3 NES Luigi sheet. Good work, Luggy!

Yeah, it's not JUST a recolor (despite what the credit tag says). It pretty well adheres to the NES rules, and there's a lot of attention to detail.

Well, even though it's not the most hefty of jobs, a lot of people may find it convent to have a (mostly) properly NES-ifed All-Stars Luigi sprite sheet ready for use. It even mimics the weird "barefoot" Frog/Tanooki suit sprites from NES Mario's sprites.
However, the back shell on the Hammer Suit is colored wrong on most frames and it's shine is missing on it's side view sprites. Also, Tanooki Luigi's "shoes" are missing on the front flip sprites.

i thought so too but apparently we were wrong

Just recolors? I thought those weren't allowed.
