Tbf on this sheet, this does look similar to the sprites in SF1
Because it matches the SF1 style, I think the banding/pillow shading make total sense, at least in this case.

...that sounded a little harsh to me, honestly. I've never played the original Street Fighter, but based on looking at the sprites that have been ripped, the shading definitely is, as Doc said, true to SF1's shading.

These do look like there from Kart Fighter, but the shading does look like the style of Street Fighter 1, of Human Killing Machine (a Street Fighter 1 knock off on every home computer at the time)
Probably because the shading is actually pretty true to the game's own. SF1 was mediocre on all accounts.
