Funny how this whole debate started because someone mistook Lilac for a cat when Carol is literally a wildcat-

What a comment section...
Pokemon practically has a lot of non-dragon Dragon-Type pokemon and dragon pokemon that aren't even Dragon-Type.
Also saying FP is part of the Sonic Universe is like saying Klonoa is part of the Sonic Universe - but because l brought three of these franchises up at once, have this image: https://safebooru.org//images/4110/c2a0341f1f1a6e85347e04543b8249dc43a89a1d.png

People who think that Lilac is a cat have never played the game.
They mention it a LOT in-game.

Lilac doesn't look ANYTHING like a cat, y'all need glasses if you think so.
She's a half-breed and also based on dragons from Asian myth, not the stereotypical western depiction of a dragon. Freedom Planet takes after Asian/Chinese culture so that checks out (Not to mention ZiyoLing, Lilac's creator is Asian themselves).

Despite Sasha looking almost exactly like how an anthropomorphic kitty cat would be, she is indeed a water dragon. Notice how her "ears" are horns and her smol little tail and it will all come together.

@Luigifan1115 I agree, I've seen dragons that are a mix of another animal that look better than Sash

You call that a dragon? That's a cat.

@DogToon64 Yes you're right, and same goes for Oddity that used to start out as a Mother/Earthbound fangame.

So let me get this straight, this game is inspired by the Sonic the Hedgehog series and was originally a Sonic OC fan game? Am I correct?

CureLovelyWarrior: Which one?

It was originally a Sonic fan game with Lilac as a Sonic fan character. But they changed it to not be, so they could sell it on steam. I even saw an old video of it on the clickteam forum, where it had actual sonic rings in it, along with the sound effect to go with them. ♥

@Dolphman Well, the first time I saw her, I thought she was a certain creature of some sort.

To be fair. Dragons don't have to be always reptilian. They could be a mashup of other animals like how they were portrayed in medieval artworks. Animalistic abominations.
I'm actually glad they changed the characters from OCs into their own thing.

@Ton I think he means the original Freedom Planet where it was involving something about Sonic in it. And Lilac was a hedgehog OC, then finalized to a water dragon who barely even looks like a dragon at all.

Not at all. It's an indie game based heavily on Sonic's aesthetic.

Isn't Freedom Planet part of the Sonic Universe?
