Submitted, and now I play the waiting game.
I think my past self was a bit confused. I'm going to correct stuff. (The unused is the blue background and not the magenta and grey backgrounds. The Magenta background is used when selecting an option and seeing the menu flash, and the grey one is used in the options menu, the debug menu, and the chart editor.)
As of the current updates (0.3.x), the blue and magenta ones are now unused.

@piggi5x - The Gray one is used in two places:
1 - When selecting an option on the Main Menu, despite what everyone else thinks, the game actually uses the Gray BG tinted Magenta.
2 - As of the Week 7 Update, it's also now used on the Freeplay Screen, due to the new colour changing BG when hovering over a specific Song.

@aoe When on the main menu, selecting something will make the background flash from yellow to pink.
