@Danny Jarquin also i subscribed

@Danny Jarquin haha so true

i like how in the 4th sprite, Vector is like "god damn it..."

I was not aware of that

@Heitorsant The rabbit is Mach, the monkey is Max, the bird is Sharps, and the crocodile is Vector.
@shadowman44 The sheet was entirely reripped, now with a consistent color scheme.

What was updated?

yoo is that feels

That blue bird is so precious, I want to protect them

so the Segasonic being Sonic's original name theory was kind of right

That light green in the palette is the deafult placeholder for the electricity colors in Eggman's "electrocuted" sprites.

Fair point, there is a light green color in the palette

Custom green? Couldn't have used the priginal?

@Superjustinbros
There's the occasional Special Stage background you can access, not sure how though, perhaps it has something to do with that?
Maybe you'd get endings or something if you freed them all or not, ala story mode/arcade modes in other puzzle games (Puyo Puyo for example)

I do wonder what role they would have ultimately played in the game.
I guess they intended the band to be the Chaos Emerald gauge or something they intended to stick into the home console version before they just stuck with the arrows.

Even I couldn't believe these were in the rom all this time when I first found them. It's that much of an interesting find.

This is honestly quite fascinating. For a game that is so heavily influenced by Sonic 1, it makes perfect sense for the band members to appear somewhere.

Wow, this is....surreal....never thought that all of them were to actually appear in a game....

HOLY CRAP
VECTOR THE CROCODILE
Seems like the Emeralds would free them (possibly in the single player mode) but was cut due to either time-constraints or being cancelled, shame too - would've been awesome!
Hope someone hacks them in soon.

It's also rather interesting that this features what could be their official designs had they appeared in games at the time. Sharps is a blue parakeet, not a chicken like we first thought. Vector almost looks like as he does in Knuckles Chaotix, minus the lack of walkman and headphones. And how he has the same shoes as Sonic.
Max is chalky red, and Mach resembles a light-coloured anime Bugs Bunny.

It's the unused band members from Sonic 1's concept art, neat.
