Huh, the model in the pic on the update has the final game's colors. So i guess they didn't change the green one's colors. They made a 2nd one with human skin color and digitized it prob cause of technical reasons.
@Silverlight Oh wow, I never knew of those concept artworks. The middle one is even more reptilian with the legs and face.

@Dolphman It makes more sense imo. The original colors and the fact that John Tobias at one point considered giving him a tail cements that he is a dragon humanoid.
@Silverlight That is strange because it clearly shows the Shokan being half-dragon humanoids. Nowadays there's even tiger species.

They were clever to have him be a stop motion sculpture instead of ordering him from Jim Henson's Creature Shop (or adding the bottom arms digitally). That, or they would've had to do him like this:
