Don't know if any of y'all heard, but Haunted Castle just got remastered, as part of the Dominus collection, called "Haunted Castle Revisited."

You forgot the flea man.

@VGTurtle Same reason why the MSX game is called Vampire Killer. Probably Konami wasn't sure what to call the series outside of Japan, they knew it can't be called Demon Castle Dracula in the US so they were thinking of something. Castlevania stuck, it sounds corny now but it is unique and in a way gets the message just as much.
The series itself is a mess when it comes to names; SNES/X68000 games class it as a sequel (Super Castlevania IV and Castlevania Chronicles) that are a retelling like this game, not using the usual name (Castlevania Bloodlines in Japan is Vampire Killer) games not linked to the original as the subtitle was dropped outside Japan (Castlevania N64) and in Europe a couple of later games on the PS2/GBA are just called Castlevania.

Dracula jumps out that window exactly like Shredder in the TMNT arcade game...

Idk, maybe the same reason that one of the Castlevania games is called Dracula X, which is a remake of Rondo of Blood, kind of confusing at first.

Why on earth did they give this arcade installment of Castlevania such a generic title as "Haunted Castle"?
