Also, it's a series tradition. Just ask the Cyberons or Trods. That's what happens when whoever writes a pre-revival story gets to keep the rights to anything they introduced in that story. If not for that, the Whoniverse wouldn't be so beautifully vast (or beautifully inconsistent)
