Interesting that they went out their way to clean up some details like the lighting on head on the dead frame, and then just give up at other points like the blood on the same sprite. Makes the sprites look almost unfinished, or upscaled using a program that didn't know what to do there.

@Dolphman Because the engine used by this game does sprite scaling on demand.
A lot of graphics in this game were badly stretched to a 64p resolution and retouched to look "good enough" (since the game ran at a terribly low resolution on real hardware, nobody would notice it).
Funny enough, this seems to be done late in development, because the graphics in the pre-release disk weren't horribly stretched :P

Why are the enemies so badly stretched like this?
