Strange how the idle animation somewhat resembles the Sonic 1 TTS prototype... This is very likely a coincidence though.

He look like ray but the name is blaze...

Companies stealing names, but not letting their names to be stolen. What next? A market where the employees steal your money, but don't let burglars steal anything?

Blaze the Cat. Not to be confused with Blaze the Cat.

Early design of blaze?

Name is Blaze, and he looks like a cat....

Hey MultiMan, the link is dead

about time!
i adore these sprites, not only because they were edited DIRECTLY from Sonic The Hedgehog, but the shading can be recoloured into a "sonic 1 amiga" hack

Additionally, the creator made the game's source available freely online: https://github.com/keithbugeja/blaze

The game was never released because it was a test game to test out what the Amiga 500 could do, and if it could handle a Sonic-like game. Although the game was never released, somebody found the ADF (or rom) for the game: https://goo.gl/KZIdxN

An explanation as to why it might have less-than-original sprites is because the game was never officially released, and the disk image only has one level on it, so I'm under the impression it was not finished when it was discovered.

The walk cycle is from Sonic 1.

It's totally Sonic 3's Sonic. Look at the walk cycle. It looks like some of Tails's head might be in the ears/hair though.

Or they could've just shaded it themselves. Ever thought about that?

Odd how it's edited off of Sonic sprites. I'm gonna guess it's edited off of a Knuckles Chaotix sheet, based on the shading.

Yup, Totally not Ray the Squirrel.
